Neither team created much distance in the first half as they went into the locker room tied at 34. In the second half, both West Virginia and Oklahoma put together strong scoring runs.
Despite facing foul trouble throughout the second half, West Virginia attempted to pull away with an 11-0 run eight minutes into the final stanza. However, the Sooners countered right away with a 9-0 run of their own that kept them in the lead for most of the waning moments of the second half.
West Virginia leveled the game at 68 apiece with 25 seconds remaining after Jonathan Holton knocked down a pair of shots at the line.
On the final possession of the game, Woodard missed his jumper before Lattin rose up and tipped in the most important basket of the contest.
Buddy Hield contributed 17 points in the win for Oklahoma, while Woodard had 13 and Ryan Spangler added 10 to go with his 14 rebounds.
Jaysean Paige scored 18 points for the Mountaineers, who fell from the ranks of the unbeaten in Big 12 play.
