Week 17 NFL Picks: Vegas Betting Odds, Over/Under Lines and Predictions

If Chip Kelly feels embarrassed about getting fired by the Philadelphia Eagles Tuesday night, wait until the Eagles play the New York Giants Sunday.

The three-year regime of Kelly came to an end when Kelly was let go. Owner Jeffrey Lurie beat the Black Monday rush and fired him before he could take his team to MetLife Stadium to close out the season.

Not only had Kelly built a disappointing record, but his personal style rubbed many of the team's players and employees the wrong way, according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora and several other reports.

The Eagles were eliminated from NFC East title contention last Saturday when they were routed at home by the Washington Redskins. The Eagles had several other miserable performances this year, including giving up 45 points in back-to-back weeks against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions.

Lurie could not have this so-called genius have an impact on his team any longer, and he told him to take his football IQ and leave the premises.

Look for the Eagles to demonstrate their joy when they take the field against the Giants, an equally disappointing team.

The Eagles beat the Giants 27-7 in one of the few games this season that they played well. They are confident when they play New York, and they have beaten the Giants in seven of their last eight visits to New Jersey.

Sam Bradford has been an up-and-down performer this season, but the Giants' 31st-ranked defense should be quite vulnerable in the season finale. Look for the Eagles to make a concerted effort from start to finish, just so the players can make a statement to their former coach.

The Eagles are three-point underdogs in this game, according to Odds Shark. Look for the Eagles to win by double digits just to put it in Kelly's face.

Jets, Bills will play it close to the vest

It's all on the line for the New York Jets when they go to upstate New York in the regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills.

Former Jets coach Rex Ryan has had a disappointing season in his first year with the Bills, and the only thing he can achieve this year is the satisfaction of knocking his old team out of the playoffs. If the Bills win this game and the Pittsburgh Steelers also win, the Jets will find themselves on the outside of the playoffs looking in.

But the Jets have played well when they needed to, winning their last five games heading into Week 17.

Head coach Todd Bowles' low-key, straight-forward style has worked well with his new team. More than anything else, Bowles is a defensive specialist. That's what Ryan is supposed to be, and that's how he made his bones in the NFL.

With so much on the line, Bowles will not want his Jets to play wide-open football. He will want them to be under control on offense, and he will ask his defense to stop the erratic Bills (27th-rated passing game) in their tracks.

The over/under in this game is 43 points. With the defensive nature of both coaches, the importance of this game to the Jets and the potential for wintry weather in Buffalo, the under is the right play in this game.

Chiefs ready to make it 10 in a row

You can't blame the Kansas City Chiefs for feeling a bit let down.

After watching the Cincinnati Bengals jump out to a 14-point lead in the first half at Denver Monday night, they saw the Broncos fight through the poor start and beat Cincinnati 20-17 in overtime.

If the Bengals had held onto that lead, the streaking Chiefs would have moved into first place in the AFC West.

They can still get there if they beat the Oakland Raiders in the season finale while the Broncos lose at home to the San Diego Chargers.

That's not likely since the Chargers have been damaged by injuries and have had a hard time playing 60 consistent minutes on a weekly basis. However, the Chiefs should cover their end of the bargain.

The Chiefs have gotten consistent and error-free play from Alex Smith at quarterback (just five interceptions in 2015), and they have found a game-changing receiver in Jeremy Maclin. The defense, which was awful in the first part of the season, has improved dramatically behind the stellar play of rookie cornerback Marcus Peters, who has eight interceptions and 33 passes defensed.

The Raiders have had a decent season, but they won't be able to stay with a motivated and streaking Kansas City team that has reeled off nine consecutive wins. The Chiefs will make it 10 in a row and cover the 7.5-point spread.
