Triple H to Be Evaluated Overnight

Sunday, Dec. 13

Triple H came to the ring and attempted to stop Reigns from going completely overboard following his championship loss, but Reigns attacked Triple H with a punch and a chair. As a result, WWE.com confirmed Triple H “is being evaluated by WWE medical staff and will be observed overnight.”

It wasn’t a pretty sight for Triple H in the aftermath, per WWE Universe:

The crowd chanted “Thank you, Roman!” during his attack on Triple H. Reigns responded in kind after the fight:

The championship fight may have been between Reigns and Sheamus, but Triple H’s status after the beating stole plenty of the headlines. Blake Oestriecher of Forbes wondered whether the buzz from the ending would lead to new storylines involving Triple H and Reigns:

Triple H has been the leading heel figure on WWE TV for the last couple of years, but he hasn’t wrestled much during that span. Now, however, he has a ready made match against Reigns just waiting to happen either at The Royal Rumble next month or at WrestleMania 32 later on, and judging by the reaction these two received at WWE TLC, it’s clearly something that the fans have plenty of interest in, much more so than they did just a couple of days ago.
