Christine Michael to Redskins: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction
Christine Michael's 2015 season took another sharp turn when he was cut by the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 17, but the third-year running back has been afforded another opportunity to revive his career.
The Washington Redskins announced they have signed Michael to their practice squad on Thursday as a contingency plan in the backfield.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network initially reported the news.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Michael was traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the Dallas Cowboys shortly before the start of the 2015 season following the emergence of rookie Thomas Rawls, but the 25-year-old's stint in Texas wasn't particularly fruitful.
In five appearances with the Cowboys, Michael managed 51 yards on 15 carries. However, if you remove a season-long run of 13 yards from the equation, Michael averaged just over 2.7 yards on all other carries with Dallas.

Although the starting gig in Dallas' backfield opened up following Joseph Randle's release, Michael didn't flash enough to convince Jason Garrett and the Cowboys coaching staff he deserved the job. Instead, veteran Darren McFadden seized the opportunity.
While the former second-round pick out of Texas A&M was once regarded as a shining star during his up-and-coming days, he never fulfilled the promise of his enormous potential.
"You might see the great cut one time and then not the next, and it’s the exact same scenario," offensive-line coach Tom Cable said of Michael during the 2014 season, per the Seattle Times' Jayson Jenks. "He comes across and makes a great blitz pickup one play and then he’s supposed to chip and then, 'Oh, I’m going to get out for my route, and oops I forgot to chip.'"
Now Michael finds himself on the practice squad of a divisional rival of the Cowboys that has their sights set on an NFC East title. With Alfred Morris and Matt Jones already on the Redskins, Michael will be waiting in the wings if one of them succumbs due to injury.
Michael's raw athletic capabilities have never been questioned, but squads have evidently become wary of his commitment to learning and refining small details that could bring his game to the next level.
Perhaps a change of scenery will bring out the best in Michael as he seeks to emerge as a consistent backfield presence.
