
Woman Accuses 2 St. Bonaventure Players of Assault Outside of a Bar
A woman claimed two unnamed members of the St. Bonaventure basketball team assaulted her in the parking lot of an Allegany, New York, bar over the weekend, according to a police report filed Sunday morning.
“We are aware of police reports of altercations occurring early Sunday morning in Allegany involving St. Bonaventure students, with one female taken to the hospital, where she was treated and released," Tom Missel, St. Bonaventure's director of marketing and media relations, said, per of the Buffalo News. “That’s the only official information we have at this point."
The woman declined to file a formal complaint. However, she told police at the time that the two players attacked her, leaving her with a "head injury, bruises and abrasions." It is unclear what led to the altercation, and the players who were allegedly involved were not identified.

“As far as we know, no charges have been filed," Missel said. "We are attempting to collect information while being careful to not interfere with any police investigations that may be ongoing. We have not received any official requests or inquiries from police at this time. We also have not received any direct information from the victim."
No charges are expected to be filed without cooperation from the victim, with Allegany Police Chief Dominic G. Papasergi telling Besecker "there is not a lot police can do" without an official complaint.
