Ranked teams include the California Golden Bears, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Wichita State Shockers. Rounding out the bracket are the 2011 Final Four darling VCU Rams and Marquette Golden Eagles.
The Shockers, who played their way into the Sweet 16 of the 2015 NCAA tournament, seem to be excited about the invite, per their official Twitter account:
Play will begin Nov. 20, 2017, at the Lahaina Civic Center in Lahaina, Hawaii.
An impressive array of teams in the 2015 Maui Invitational include the No. 4 Kansas Jayhawks and No. 15 Indiana Hoosiers. The Arizona Wildcats defeated the San Diego State Aztecs, 61-59, in the final of last year's tournament.
The list of past champions serves as a who's who of basketball blue bloods—led by the Duke Blue Devils, who have claimed the title five times. The Syracuse Orange and North Carolina Tar Heels have each won three titles, while the Connecticut Huskies, Arizona and Michigan have won two apiece.
