The Memphis Tigers solidified the point guard position for the foreseeable future by landing 4-star recruit Charlie Moore on Thursday.

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports passed along the news and added his thoughts on how Moore will fit in with the Tigers:

Moore is a 5'10", 160-pound point guard from Morgan Park in Chicago. He's considered the top prospect from the state of Illinois, the No. 15-ranked point guard prospect and the No. 75-ranked overall prospect in the 2016 recruiting class, according to 247Sports.

ESPN.com's scouting report describes Moore as follows: "Aย cat-quick, tough and fearless guard that is an aggressive playmaker.ย He has a tight handle, is an excellent passer as he attacks and has beyond-the-arc shooting range when he is in rhythm."

Moore offered his own personal scouting report.

โ€œWhen Iโ€™m hitting shots, they are going to try and get up on me hard, so I go right around them,โ€ Moore told Evan Daniels of Scout.com in July at the Las Vegas Classic. โ€œEither Iโ€™ll score or look for the open man for an easy basket.โ€

While Moore's size will be a slight concern, he compensates for it with his speed, vision and playmaking ability. He can score the rock or set up his teammates for easy buckets. He is also a dangerous scorer from the perimeter and can use his quickness to separate from defenders or quickly step back and hit from beyond the arc.

His versatility makes him a hassle for defenders. It will also make him a key player for Memphis in the coming years.
