Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Roethlisberger entered Week 9 just eight yards behind Johnny Unitas' mark of 40,239 despite having played in 49 fewer games in the league. He surpassed Unitas with his second completion of the game—a 33-yard pass to DeAngelo Williams—before going after Montana.
The Steelers signal-caller is now zeroing in on Kerry Collins' 40,922 yards for 13th place, a mark that is also more than attainable between now and the end of the season if he can stay healthy.
That may be an issue going forward after he exited Sunday's game with a left foot injury. The team announced Roethlisberger is questionable to return.
Even in an era in which quarterbacks have a much easier time than their predecessors, Roethlisberger's consistency on the field is impressive, especially considering the offensive and coaching personnel that have shuffled through Pittsburgh.
He'll likely always be overshadowed by the likes of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, but Roethlisberger is unquestionably one of the greatest quarterbacks of his generation.
