Eagles' Sproles Records 8th Career Return Touchdown
Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles recorded the eighth return touchdown of his career during Sunday's 24-17 win over the New York Jets, taking a punt 89 yards to the house in the second quarter to give his team a 10-0 lead, per the Eagles' official website.
It was the second-longest punt return in franchise history, trailing only Damaris Johnson's 98-yarder from a 2012 game against the Dallas Cowboys. With three of his six career punt return touchdowns coming in an Eagles uniform, Sproles once again ranks second in team history, behind only DeSean Jackson (four).
Per NFL Network's Rand Getlin, Sproles is the only player in NFL history with 25 or more receiving touchdowns (27), 15 or more rushing touchdowns (18) and five or more punt return touchdowns (six).

The pint-sized 32-year-old displayed his trademark versatility in Sunday's game, adding a one-yard rushing touchdown later in the second quarter to give the Eagles a 24-0 lead.
Sproles got some extra work because fellow Eagles running back DeMarco Murray was sidelined by a hamstring injury, and while Sproles only gained 36 scrimmage yards on his 15 offensive touches (11 carries, four catches), the pair of touchdowns salvaged his day.
