Titans, Other Teams Showed Interest in Gray
Tuesday, Sept. 8
Prior to his report stating Gray would sign with the Dolphins, Schefter, citing agent Sean Stellato, said Gray would have a workout with the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday, while Ben Volin of the Boston Globe noted several other teams expressed interest in the running back.
Gray rushed for 412 yards and five touchdowns in eight games with the Patriots last season, though he became a national story when he rushed for 201 yards and four touchdowns in a November win over the Indianapolis Colts.
His release came as a surprise, as he was expected to be the team's Week 1 starter with LeGarrette Blount suspended for the opening week. He showed potential in his rookie season and can provide quality depth for the Dolphins at the running back position, even if his huge game against the Colts was a bit of an outlier.
