Jaguars Stun Eagles on Late FG, Box Score Stats, Highlights for Hurts, Lawrence, Washington, More

Sunday's game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles in London was, in a word, chaos.

And that chaos ended with Cam Little hitting the game-winning 57-yard field goal for the Jaguars just seconds after Jake Elliott gave the Eagles the lead with a 48-yard field goal.

Ameer Abdullah's 53-yard kick return before Little's field goal was arguably the most important play of the game in Jacksonville's 19-17 win, and defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton also deserves some credit for filling in at long-snapper and delivering the snap on the last kick.

Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars are now 4-1 following their third straight win, while Jalen Hurts and the shorthanded Eagles who were without Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith fell to 2-3 overall with a third straight loss.

To say Philadelphia entered this game reeling would be an understatement.

In addition to the two straight losses, they were without key players in Barkley, Smith, Jonathan Greenard and Tank Bigsby, among others, because of injury. What's more, the offensive line looked completely different after Lane Johnson retired and Cam Jurgens was traded to the Baltimore Ravens.

And it took exactly one play for the NFC East team to lose another key contributor.

The game fittingly started with chaos, as Jacksonville's Josh Cameron returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown before it was called back for holding. A fight broke out, which resulted in the ejections of Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Jaguars defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr. (not wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.).

Philadelphia then turned it over on downs on its first offensive possession before Parker Washington scored a 51-yard touchdown on the ensuing drive for Jacksonville. There was a sense of here we go again for the Eagles, but they responded in a major way.

Will Shipley's touchdown and Darius Cooper's 62-yard score gave them the lead, and the defense protected it with a goal-line stand to end the first half with a 14-7 advantage. Jalen Carter in particular was unblockable, which shut down Lawrence and Co. for extended stretches.

Perhaps there was some hesitancy from Jacksonville's perspective to kick a field goal at the end of the half since Hamilton was playing long snapper.

But the Eagles still faced an uphill battle after halftime even with the lead, as Shipley was ruled out with a foot injury. The running game was virtually nonexistent as both offenses stalled with a Philadelphia turnover on downs and a Quinyon Mitchell interception of Lawrence during an ugly third quarter that featured three combined points.

The game got uglier from there with Hurts missing a wide-open Dontayvion Wicks for a touchdown and the Jaguars offense turning into a comedy show from the Eagles' 1-yard line with a false start, two delay of games, Brian Thomas Jr. not getting a second foot down in the end zone and Lawrence throwing an incompletion on fourth down.

But that offense finally broke through when Washington made a highlight-reel one-handed touchdown catch. While Jacksonville missed the ensuing extra point after a poor snap from Hamilton, it finally had the lead.

That lead didn't last long thanks to Elliott's field goal, but Little had a response as time expired for a Jaguars team that will remain in London to face the Houston Texans.
