Darius Wabbington, a 5-star center out of the class of 2027, has announced his college basketball commitment.

Per ESPN's Jeff Borzello, Wabbington committed to Indiana over North Carolina, Illinois, Kentucky and more.

According to 247Sports' composite rankings, Wabbington is the No. 13 player in the country and the No. 2 center in the class of 2027. He is the Hoosiers' third-highest recruit in program history, according to 247Sports.

"I'm going to Indiana University and I chose there because the plan they have for me and the trust that the entire organization has in me," Wabbington told Dushawn London of 247Sports.

Wabbington had an official visit to Indiana last month before taking trips to Illinois and Arizona. Ultimately, he decided Bloomington was the place for him.

Wabbington marks Indiana's third commit out of the class of 2027, joining 4-star point guard Chase Branham and Felix Keihlneker out of Germany.

The Hoosiers had success in recruiting last year, putting together the No. 8-ranked recruiting class, according to 247Sports. Indiana also brought in a number of highly coveted players through the transfer portal, with former Alabama forward Aiden Sherrell highlighting the group.

The Hoosiers are looking to return to being the powerhouse they once were, and landing recruits like Wabbington is a good start, but Indiana still has plenty of work to do.

In his first season as head coach, Darian DeVries finished 18-14 overall and 9-11 in conference play. Indiana missed the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive season.

The second year of the Devries era tips off on Nov. 2 with a matchup against Eastern Illinois.
