Mike McDaniel Defends Justin Herbert, Takes Blame for Chargers Offensive Struggles
Justin Herbert has had a rough start to the season amid the Los Angeles Chargers' offensive struggles, but offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel isn't letting his quarterback take the fall.
"I'm fully responsible," he told reporters Thursday. "... I spend zero time trying to avoid blame. It's quite the opposite."
McDaniel, who was fired by the Miami Dolphins in January, hoped to use his offensive mind to make the Chargers Super Bowl candidates, but that hasn't been the case thus far.

The Biggest Disappointments of NFL Season So Far ☹️
Los Angeles ranks in the bottom half of the NFL in yards per game (349.3) and ranks fourth-to-last in points per game (14.7).
Herbert has thrown for 627 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions through three games.
Despite the Chargers' struggles, head coach Jim Harbaugh said this week that he has no plans to take some of the offensive control from McDaniel.
"No, we trust Mike. We believe in Mike," Harbaugh told reporters.
This week will be the biggest test so far as the Chargers go up against the defending champion Seattle Seahawks, who have had one of the best defenses in the NFL early on.
