Midnight Madness 2026 Schedule for Top NCAA Men's Basketball Teams
At some point, the focus of the college basketball world will shift back from court courts to basketball courts.
And that point might be arriving soon.
Because actual basketball activities will soon be coming to a college campus near you. Before that happens, though, several prominent programs will get things going Midnight Madness-styleโtraditional fan showcases, albeit without the old 12 a.m. tip times.
Arizona's Red-Blue Showcase

Location:ย McKale Center at ALKEME Arena
Fresh off a 36-win effort and the program's first Final Four trek since 2001, the Wildcats will carry nothing less than championship expectations into this campaign.
They have a legitimate chance of realizing that lofty goal, too.
They're returning premier players like paint protector Motiejus Krivas and versatile wing Ivan Kharchenkov while fleshing out the core with impact transfers (Derek Dixon, JJ Mandaquit and maybe RJ Godfrey) and decorated freshman (Caleb Holt and Cam Holmes).
If head coach Tommy Lloyd's new club looks anything like his last one, the hoops world could be in trouble. Last season, Arizona was one of only two teams (along with national champion Michigan) to hold top-five efficiency ranks on both offense and defense, per KenPom.com.

Like a lot ofย John Calipari-coached teams, the Razorbacks are sort of starting from scratch. Their three leading scorers were all NBA draft picksโDarius Acuff Jr., Meleek Thomas and Trevon Brazileโso they had to get busy on the recruiting trail.
Fortunately, that's where Calipari cooks, and he might have served up the strongest freshman crop in the country.
As ESPN's Jeff Borzello observed, "there's a case for anywhere between two and four freshman to earn starting spots." Jordan Smith Jr., the No. 2 player on the 2027 NBA draft big board from B/R's Jonathan Wasserman, is a lock, but JJ Andrews (No. 5), Miikka Muurinen (No. 22) and Abdou Toure (No. 25) have arguments, too.
Throw in returning wing Billy Richmond III (No. 54) and transfers Jeremiah Wilkinson (17.4 points per game at Georgia) and Cooper Bowser (13.8 points on 76.6 percent shooting at Furman), and Arkansas might have the right blend of star power and depth to put together a special kind of season.

As per usual, the Blue Devils look absolutely loaded.
While they lost Cameron Boozer to the NBA, they kept his twin brother Cayden, along with seasoned floor general Caleb Foster, athletic wing Dame Sarr and powerful post player Patrick Ngongba II.
They added a number of notable newcomers, too. That includes celebrated recruits like Cameron Williams (a McDonald's All-American), Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje (a 17-year-old who played at Barcelona) and Deron Rippey Jr. (an explosive lead guard), plus impact transfers led by John Blackwell, who averaged 19.1 points at Wisconsin last season.
Duke will play some really prominent non-conference games, so it should be obvious early just what kind of club this really is. If all goes according to plan, though, there might be enough talent for this school to capture its first national title since 2015.
