Trevon Diggs' Future Revealed in New NFL Rumors After CB Was Part of Seahawks' Roster Cuts

Trevon Diggs was hoping to revive his NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks, but he won't start the 2026 campaign on the roster.

Diggs did not make the 53-man roster ahead of cuts on Sunday, but the team plans to bring him back on the practice squad, according to The Ringer's Tom Pelissero.

Diggs was an All-Pro player with the Dallas Cowboys in 2021 when he had 11 interceptions, and he put together another strong campaign in 2022, but injuries derailed his career from there. In 2023, he appeared in just two games before suffering a season-ending torn ACL.

Diggs played well in 2024, recording 42 tackles and two interceptions, but his season ended prematurely after 11 games. Last year, he missed a significant portion of the season because of lingering concussion symptoms, and the Cowboys released him in December.

Diggs finished the 2025 season with the Green Bay Packers.

The Seahawks signed Diggs earlier this month, giving him the chance to earn a spot on the roster ahead of the season. He had a strong showing in the preseason, picking up an interception against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, but he didn't do enough to make the 53-man roster.

"He's really come up to speed, which is saying something," Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said. "And I think our players have done a great job of coaching him up and you hear him in walkthroughs, our guys coach him up, play to play, and he knows ball. All it is, is just kind of connecting dots and connecting some of that, all the things that he's heard to the new techniques, the new words and stuff. So did some great things today. Obviously to have the interception was pretty awesome."

Diggs won't get the chance to prove himself in games to start the year, but he could very well be called up to the 53-man roster at some point this season.
