And here's a look at the overall postseason bracket:

The Brewers didn't waste any time getting on the board, as Jackson Chourio hit a leadoff home run on the first pitch of the game.

The contest quickly turned into a pitching duel between Los Angeles' Blake Snell and Milwaukee's Robert Gasser, though. Neither team scored over the next four innings.

The Dodgers finally started to gain momentum in the bottom of the sixth, loading the bases with walks by Teoscar Hernández, Kyle Tucker and Shohei Ohtani.

Los Angeles capitalized on the opportunity, jumping in front with a two-run double from Will Smith.

Still, a pair of strikeouts to finish the inning prevented the Dodgers from extending their lead.

The Brewers quickly responded in the top of the seventh, as Jake Bauers launched a two-run homer to cap off an 11-pitch at-bat.

Garrett Mitchell followed it up with a solo shot to give Milwaukee back-to-back home runs, pushing the team's advantage to 4-2.

Los Angeles' bullpen wasn't able to prevent the Brewers from tacking on another run in the top of the eighth, as Brice Turang scored on a wild pitch by Justin Wrobleski.

Milwaukee then gained a 6-2 lead with Joey Ortiz's RBI single in the ninth frame.

The Dodgers couldn't pull off a late rally, as Brewers closer Trevor Megill recorded four outs to clinch the victory.

Los Angeles finished with just five hits as a team, leaving eight runners on base and going 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position.

The Dodgers will attempt to keep their quest for a third consecutive World Series title alive in Game 4 on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
