Matas Buzelis Says Luka Doncic Dropped 'Nasty' Trash Talk During Bulls vs. Lakers Matchup

Luka Dončić is one of the best players in the NBA. He is also one of the league's best trash-talkers.

Just ask Matas Buzelis.

During an appearance on Cousins with Vince Carter & Tracy McGrady (53-minute mark), the Chicago Bulls forward recalled a time when Dončić was saying things he couldn't even repeat all while dropping 51 points in a Los Angeles Lakers victory.

"I don't really want to get into detail because it was some really like nasty things said, but he just started he started baking me bad, like 12 in a row, bad, and I was like I don't care, keep doing that, I don't care what you doing, keep scoring, we'll see if you can keep scoring," Buzelis said. "I have 20 at half and he has 22. So I'm chilling.

"So I end with like 23. ... And he ends with like 50. And it's just man, he hit this one shot. ... And I'm not even trying to glaze or anything, but he shot it. … He was isoing, and he does that step back, shot it. I feel like in midair he like points directly down at me, and I'm in the corner, and he like turns around mid shot and it just went straight back rim. I was like, 'Oh god, that's not good.' They beat us by like 20. In the media I was saying that I'm probably not going to trash talk again to him, but I really don't care. I'm going to do it again."

While Buzelis deserves some credit for not backing down when it comes to the trash-talk department, there is something to be said about not poking the bear when it comes to some players in the NBA.

And Dončić is certainly one of those players.

The specific game Buzelis referenced was Los Angeles' 142-130 victory over the Bulls on March 12. Dončić ended up with 51 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists on 17-of-31 shooting from the field and a head-turning 9-of-14 shooting from deep.

Austin Reaves also ended up with 30 points, but he, along with everyone else, was an afterthought to Dončić's individual brilliance.

It was yet another reminder of how unstoppable the future Hall of Famer can be when he gets rolling, and he surely let Buzelis and everyone else on the Bulls know about it as he was dropping 51 points.
