Travis Hunter Experiments with FG Kicking at Jaguars Practice, Here's How 2-Way Star Performed

Travis Hunter attempted to add a third position to his résumé during the Jacksonville Jaguars' joint practice with the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday.

As the cornerback and wide receiver prepares for his second NFL season, he tried out kicking in a special teams period of practice.

Hunter ended up connecting on just one of his five field-goal attempts, but celebrated with a short dance after his lone make (via Garry Smits of the Jacksonville Florida Times-Union).

The Jaguars already boast one of the league's top kickers in Cam Little, who has made 90.5 percent of his field goals throughout his two years with the team. This included a 68-yarder in Nov. 2025, setting a new NFL record.

As for Hunter, he was limited to just seven games as a rookie due to a knee injury.

The No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft caught 28 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown while racking up 15 tackles and three passes defended at corner.

While Hunter is looking forward to continuing his two-way role during the 2026 season, he's spent more time on defense than offense in 11-on-11 work throughout the start of camp (h/t ESPN's Michael DiRocco).

After coming off a 13-4 finish despite Hunter's absence, the Jaguars are attempting to make consecutive playoff appearances for the first time since 1999.
