Puka Nacua Leaves Practice with Apparent Injury, Rams' McVay Updates WR's Status

Los Angeles Rams superstar wideout Puka Nacua left Tuesday's training camp practice with an apparent injury issue, though head coach Sean McVay didn't have any updates for reporters following the session.

Any injury to Nacua would be a major concern for a Rams team with Super Bowl aspirations in the 2026 season.

Nacua, 25, has emerged as one of the best receivers in the NFL, with two Pro Bowl nods and a first-team All-Pro selection across three seasons. He was fantastic in 2025, catching 129 passes for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns (he also rushed for 105 yards and a score).

He's become the focal point of the Rams' offense and is clearly Matt Stafford's top target.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, goes into the 2026 season as one of the NFL's Super Bowl favorites—if not the favorite—after landing superstar edge-rusher Myles Garrett and cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson. The talent that has been accumulated in L.A. is impressive, and the possibility of Aaron Donald coming out of retirement would be a very "the rich get richer" addition.

But if there's one thing that could topple the Rams, it's injuries.

Stafford is 38 and dealt with a back injury serious enough to cost him nearly a month of training camp before the 2025 season (he ultimately won the league's MVP award). Nacua has dealt with injury issues in the past. Garrett is 30 and has been dealing with knee swelling during training camp.

At this point, there's no indication of how serious Nacua's injury is, if at all. But he's one of the players the Rams simply can't afford to be without in a season full of astronomical expectations.
