Robert Griffin III Shades Mike Shanahan Over 2012 Injury in Netflix Documentary Video Trend
Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III referenced one of the most infamous moments of his career while participating in an online trend on Friday.
Pretending like he was sitting down to take part in a Netflix documentary, RG3 was dressed in his full Washington Commanders uniform and included the caption, "Preparing for my Netflix documentary about why they kept running me when I only had one leg against Seattle in 2012."

Griffin was alluding to the first and only playoff start of his career at the conclusion of his rookie season.
RG3 was nursing a knee injury entering that game, but he still got the start, and head coach Mike Shanahan allowed him to carry the ball five times for 21 yards before his knee finally gave out.
Griffin tore his ACL and LCL in the game, and he was replaced by Kirk Cousins. Washington went on to lose the NFC Wild Card Round game 24-14.
After starring collegiately at Baylor, RG3 looked like a superstar during his rookie season in the NFL, throwing for 3,200 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions, while also rushing for 815 yards and seven scores en route to Pro Bowl and NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.
However, Griffin was never the same after the injury, as he played only two more seasons in Washington before spending time with the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, primarily as a backup.
In 41 games and 27 starts after the injury, Griffin went 7-20 and threw for 6,071 yards, 23 touchdowns and 25 interceptions to go along with 994 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
Shanahan was fired after the 2013 season, and then-Washington wide receiver Santana Moss indicated in 2017 that Griffin was outwardly happy about it.
Griffin denied that was the case in a post on X in 2017, writing, "To openly lie about me is a betrayal."
RG3 placed some blame on Shanahan for the derailment of his career in Friday's post, though, even if it was somewhat tongue-in-cheek.
