Aaron Judge Reveals His Biggest MLB Accomplishment Amid Historic Yankees Career
Aaron Judge is a three-time MVP, eight-time All-Star, the 2017 AL Rookie of the Year and a five-time Silver Slugger.
But his proudest accomplishment is being the New York Yankees' captain.
"It's the greatest honor of my career, by far," he said Thursday. "The chance to be named the Yankee captain was probably my biggest career accolade. It's not something you're just given once—you earn it every single day. Every time you show up for practice, every time you show up for a game, you're representing your team. But you're also being an example to everybody on your team, 'OK, this is how you prepare, this is how you work.' This is why you've got the 'C' on your chest, because of how you prepare and play the game. So for me that's the coolest part."
The Yankees named Judge the captain ahead of the 2023 season at the same time the organization signed him to a nine-year, $360 million deal.
"I was taken aback," Judge told reporters at the time while talking about being asked to serve as team captain. "You look at this list of individuals who have this title, it's such an honor."
And that honor clearly has never diminished.
