MLB All-Star Game Extra-Inning Rules Explained, Swing-Off Batters Revealed Ahead of 2026 Game
If the 2026 All-Star Game on Tuesday night is tied after nine innings, the two teams will once again participate in a swing-off.
The swing-off made its debut last year, and Philadelphia Phillies star delivered the game-winning home run to win the Midsummer Classic for the National League. The batters for a potential swing-off were revealed on Tuesday.
The NL team will use St. Louis Cardinals right fielder Jordan Walker, who won Monday's Home Run Derby, along with Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman and Washington Nationals right fielder James Wood.

On the AL side, it will be Seattle Mariners left fielder Randy Arozarena, Boston Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras and Chicago White Sox first baseman Munetaka Murakami.
Each batter will get three swings, and the team with the most home runs at the end is the winner. If things are still tied, each manager will pick one batter for the next round of three.
The swing-off made for an exciting ending to last year's game in Atlanta, but both teams would likely prefer to get the win in the first nine innings.
The All-Star Game in Philadelphia starts at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
