Bills' Josh Allen is 'Most Singularly Unstoppable' QB, Says NFL GM in New Top 10 Rankings

Doric SamJul 13, 2026

Entering the 2026 season, Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen has officially taken over as the league's top quarterback.

In an annual top-10 poll conducted by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, coaches and executives voted Allen as the No. 1 quarterback in the NFL ahead of Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes.

"He's the most singularly unstoppable player at the position when you get his A-game," an NFL general manager said of Allen. "And he has cut down on the turnovers the past two seasons."

The full top 10 list of quarterbacks is as follows:

  1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
  2. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
  3. Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
  4. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
  5. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
  6. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
  7. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
  8. Drake Maye, New England Patriots
  9. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
  10. Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears

Fowler noted that Allen actually received fewer first-place votes than Mahomes, with 34.1 percent of his returns ranking him No. 1 compared to 41.5 percent for his longtime rival. However, Allen's average ranking of 2.10 per ballot gave him the edge in this year's poll.

Allen followed up his 2024 NFL MVP season with another strong campaign last year, throwing for 3,668 yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while also adding 579 rushing yards and 14 more scores. Fowler highlighted his reduced turnover rate, as he has averaged eight interceptions over the last two years, well below his average of 15.7 from 2021-23.

Unfortunately, Allen's propensity for giving the ball up cost him at the worst possible time, as he threw two interceptions and lost two fumbles in Buffalo's divisional round playoff loss to the Denver Broncos.

"You live with him and die with him," an NFL coordinator said. "You can't get mad at him because he won a lot of games for you with a similar style and he was so good."

The coordinator went on to point out that the Bills had a serious lack of talent on offense in 2025, but Allen still managed to elevate his teammates.

"Look who he was throwing to. His wideouts weren't great," the coordinator said. "But he made it work and brought out their best. He elevates the people around him, clearly."
