49ers' Brandon Aiyuk Hypes Commanders-Themed Cleats in New IG Video After Jayden Daniels Exchange
Despite his recent online spat with Jayden Daniels, Brandon Aiyuk is still talking like he expects to play for the Washington Commanders whenever the San Francisco 49ers release him.
In his latest post on Instagram, Aiyuk published a picture of custom shoes with his signature logo and the caption: "I'm going so crazy in burgundy n gold, you can stamp that!!"

Dark-Horse Candidates to Win Each NFL Award in 2026
Amid Aiyuk's ongoing quest to end up with the Commanders, there have been two recent developments that would seem to present significant obstacles to achieving that goal.
Aiyuk took a dig at Daniels, who was his college quarterback at Arizona State in 2019, on Instagram last weekend.
"You gonna have to stop running behind your momma, and I might believe what you talkin' bout," Aiyuk said to Daniels in an Instagram Story.
Daniels responded by posting an image of Kevin Durant giving a thumbs down.
Another hurdle for Aiyuk to clear before he could even think about getting to Washington is applying for reinstatement to play again.
Since the 49ers put Aiyuk on the reserve/left squad list last December after they voided the guaranteed money remaining on his contract for failing to attend meetings and declining to participate in other team activities, he would need to formally apply for reinstatement to the NFL.
Aiyuk announced on Tuesday he would "not be reinstating" with the 49ers. It's unclear if that means he won't apply, but it does muddle an already extremely distorted picture for the disgruntled wide receiver.
There is an expectation the 49ers will release Aiyuk around the start of training camp, but they aren't under any pressure to do so since he's not going to be around the team and they aren't on the hook for anymore of his guaranteed money.
Aiyuk last played in in Week 7 of the 2024 season against the Kansas City Chiefs. He tore his ACL and MCL during the game, less than two months after signing a four-year, $120 million contract.
