Adam Vinatieri Named to Colts' Ring of Honor Ahead of Pro Football HOF Enshrinement
Being part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's 2026 class isn't the only honor Adam Vinatieri will receive this year.
The Indianapolis Colts announced Wednesday the kicker will be the next player inducted into their Ring of Honor. The ceremony honoring his accomplishments with the team will take place Oct. 18 during Indianapolis' home game against the Tennessee Titans.

ESPN's Stephen Holder noted Vinatieri will be the 21st person inducted into the Colts' Ring of Honor, joining the likes of Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, Edgerrin James and Tony Dungy, among others.
Vinatieri is arguably the greatest kicker in NFL history and holds the league record for points (2,673) and field goals made (599).
But he stood out most for his ability to come through in the clutch, as evidenced by his game-winning kicks in Super Bowls XXXVI and XXXVIII when he was a member of the New England Patriots.
That clutch factor didn't go away when he joined the Colts, and he made three field goals in the team's Super Bowl XLI win over the Chicago Bears.
In all, he played 14 seasons for the Colts from 2006 through 2019 and connected on 85.3 percent of his field goals and 96.8 percent of his extra points. For all the attention he received with the Patriots, he actually played four years longer in Indianapolis and made a higher percentage of his field goals.
Vinatieri connected on 81.9 percent of his field goals in New England.
He was also a Pro Bowler and First-Team All-Pro selection in 2014 with the Colts when he led the league by making 96.8 percent of his field goals.
The legendary kicker will be joined by Drew Brees, Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly and Roger Craig as the members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2026.
