MLBPA Reportedly Proposes Ban on Prop Bets on Individual Players in CBA Talks
The MLB Players Association proposed a ban on prop bets on individual players in collective bargaining agreement discussions with MLB, according to ESPN's David Purdum and Jeff Passan.
The proposed ban would cover all prop bets related to individual players that are placed before or during games, per Purdum and Passan.
Event contracts at prediction markets based on the performances of individual players would also be banned.

MLBPA Exec Rips CBA Proposals

Reacting to All-Star Phase 1 Voting Results
With the rise of legalized sports betting in recent years, several MLB players have spoken about the criticism that they've received from people blaming them for failed bets.
As part of Thursday's proposal, the MLBPA also asked MLB to clarify that players are permitted to engage in endorsements and sponsorships from legal betting operators and prediction markets (via Purdum and Passan).
CBA negotiations between both sides have been ongoing, although there are multiple issues that need be resolved before an agreement can be reached.
If the MLBPA and MLB can't find common ground before the current CBA expires on Dec. 1, a lockout could occur.
