New NBA Trade Rumors on Myles Turner's Potential Landing Spot After Bucks' Giannis Deal
After the Milwaukee Bucks sent star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat in a blockbuster trade, veteran center Myles Turner reportedly could be the next player on his way out.
Michael Grange of Sportsnet reported that there have been indications that the Toronto Raptors could pursue a trade for Turner this offseason.
"NBA sources have connected the Raptors to Bucks center Myles Turner, with the possibility that Raptors center Jakob Poeltl, third-year wing Gradey Dick and potentially draft compensation being the core of a deal that would net Toronto the veteran big with credentials as a rim protector and three-point threat," Grange stated.
It was just a year ago that the Bucks signed Turner to a four-year, $108.9 million contract, which ended his 10-year run with the rival Indiana Pacers. In his first season in Milwaukee, the 30-year-old started 71 games and averaged 11.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.6 blocks.
Turner would certainly be an upgrade for the Raptors, as Poeltl isn't close to his level as a rim protector and also doesn't stretch the floor, attempting just seven three-pointers over his 10-year career.
The Bucks could be more open to shipping away their veterans and committing to their youth movement after losing Antetokounmpo, so Turner and other experienced players could be available for the right price this offseason.
