New NBA Mock Draft 2026 Drops by ESPN's Jeremy Woo For Round 2, Predictions for Knicks Revealed

Mike ChiariJun 24, 2026

After not technically making a selection in the first round of the 2026 NBA draft on Tuesday night, the reigning NBA champion New York Knicks are set to open the second round on Wednesday night with the No. 31 overall pick.

ESPN's Jeremy Woo projects the Knicks to take North Carolina center Henri Veesaar with that pick. Here is a look at the first 10 picks of the second round in Woo's latest mock draft:

31. New York Knicks: Henri Veesaar, C, North Carolina

33. Minnesota Timberwolves: Isaiah Evans, G, Duke

34. Cleveland Cavaliers: Meleek Thomas, G, Arkansas

35. Denver Nuggets: Dillon Mitchell, F, St. John's

36. Los Angeles Clippers: Jack Kayil, G, Germany

37. Oklahoma City Thunder: Richie Saunders, G, BYU

38. Chicago Bulls, Emmanuel Sharp, G, Houston

39. Houston Rockets: Ryan Conwell, G, Louisville

40. Boston Celtics: Braden Smith, G, Purdue

The Knicks did some wheeling and dealing during and after the first round of the draft, making three separate trades.

Per ESPN, they first sent the No. 24 overall pick (Cameron Carr) and cash to the Los Angeles Lakers for the No. 25 overall pick (Sergio de Larrea).

New York then traded de Larrea to the Dallas Mavericks for the No. 30 overall pick (Koa Peat) and two second-round picks. After that, the Knicks sent Peat to the Phoenix Suns for cash and three second-round picks, including No. 47 overall in this year's draft.

According to Woo, the Knicks "likely considered" taking Veesaar at No. 24 overall before their flurry of trades, so they should be happy to get him seven spots later.

New York doesn't have many glaring needs after winning a championship, but Mitchell Robinson hitting free agency, a big like Veesaar would have the best chance of contributing immediately.

The 6'11" center from Estonia broke out in a big way last season after transferring from Arizona to UNC, averaging 17.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 blocks per game.

Woo also has the Knicks using the No. 47 overall pick they got from the Suns on Tennessee State guard Aaron Nkrumah.

Nkrumah is already 24 and he played against a lower level of competition, so his ceiling may be limited, but his defensive ability is apparent after averaging 2.8 steals per game last season.

That type of skill set could be valuable off the bench, especially in the form of a player with an affordable, cost-controlled contract.
