AJ Dybantsa Not Favored to Win Rookie of the Year, Who's No. 1 in Latest Odds After 2026 NBA Draft
Cameron Boozer didn't go No. 1 overall during the first round of Tuesday's NBA draft, but he is favored to win the 2026-27 Rookie of the Year award.
According to FanDuel, the Memphis Grizzlies' No. 3 selection has the top odds to win the award (+220), followed by No. 2 pick Darryn Peterson (+400), No. 7 selection Darius Acuff Jr. (+450), top overall pick AJ Dybantsa (+450) and No. 4 selection Caleb Wilson (+850).

It makes sense. Boozer will immediately be one of the main cogs in the Grizzlies' offense, especially if Ja Morant is traded this summer. The 2025-26 Naismith Award winner put up 22.5 points and 10.2 rebounds per game in his lone college season, and if he averages a double-double as a rookie in the NBA he'll have a great chance at Rookie of the Year honors.
Dybantsa, meanwhile, will be on a team that also features Trae Young and Anthony Davis. In theory, he'll be the third option on offense, which could limit his counting stats early in his career.
Peterson is probably the most talented scorer of the bunch, but the Utah Jazz have a lot of mouths to feed in Jaren Jackson Jr., Lauri Markkanen, Ace Bailey and Keyonte George.
Acuff will be an interesting name to monitor, given his explosive offensive ability (23.5 PPG for Arkansas last season) and the fact that the rebuilding Sacramento Kings should have plenty of usage for him. If they move on from Domantas Sabonis and DeMar DeRozan this offseason, Acuff could be hoisting up an obscene number of shots as a rookie.
Finally, Wilson offers a similar double-double threat to Boozer (19.8 PPG, 9.4 RPG last season) and will be one of the centerpieces of the young Chicago Bulls. That makes him a worthwhile consideration in the Rookie of the Year conversation.
