Caleb Wilson Posts Old Photo in Bulls Gear, Makes Bold Prediction After Going No. 4 in NBA Draft
Anytime the Chicago Bulls draft someone who played at North Carolina, fans are going to instantly think about Michael Jordan.
Caleb Wilson isn't backing down from those parallels after Chicago selected him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft on Tuesday.
"I want to be the greatest of all time," Wilson said, per Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic. "... Y'all got one of the goats in y'all history, so it's time for another one."
It's a bold declaration, but Wilson may know his Bulls' history better than most given how long he's been representing the team:
It's a new era in Chicago with head coach Tiago Splitter taking over and executive vice president of basketball operations Bryson Graham building the roster, and the addition of Wilson is one of the new group's first major decisions.
The North Carolina product clearly isn't lacking confidence, which is notable given how important he will be in the coming years as the Bulls look to turn things around and return to playoff contention. They missed the playoffs in each of the last four seasons, although they have some building blocks in place with Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis.
Wilson is now one of those building blocks, and he has one of the highest ceilings of every prospect in the draft.
He was an All-American Second-Team selection and All-ACC First-Team in his one season at North Carolina as he averaged 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks per game.
The overall stats underscore how he can impact the game in a number of ways, and the Bulls will need him to do just that if they are going to surprise and compete for a playoff spot during his rookie season.
He's surely ready to do just that since he plans on being "the greatest of all time."
