Latest NBA Draft Rumors Reveal Which Teams Are Eyeing Trades Ahead of Round 1
This year's NBA draft class is one of the best in years, and it's led to a number of teams eyeing trades up.
Per Yahoo Sports' Kelly Iko, the Charlotte Hornets (No. 14 and 18) and Chicago Bulls (No. 15) are among the teams hoping to move up before Tuesday night. Iko also noted that the Memphis Grizzlies, who have the No. 4 pick, are looking to trade up from their other first-round pick at No. 16.
Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman projects the Hornets to take Michigan's Morez Johnson Jr. and Texas Tech's Christian Anderson with their selections.
Wasserman projects the Bulls to take North Carolina's Caleb Wilson and Baylor's Cameron Carr, while he projects Memphis to take Duke's Cameron Boozer and Iowa's Bennett Stirtz with its picks.
The Oklahoma City Thunder, who have the Nos. 12 and 17 picks, reportedly have been eyeing a trade into the top 10 as well, as they look to improve their already loaded young core.
Wasserman has OKC taking Michigan's Aday Mara and Texas' Dailyn Swain in his latest mock draft.
The Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings have reportedly been open to trading their picks, all in the top 10, but Iko noted that those teams' willingness to move draft spots "is being met with skepticism."
NBC Sports' Kurt Helin noted that it would take multiple first-round picks for the Clippers to trade their first-round selection.
ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel reported that the Golden State Warriors have been making calls about trading down, adding that they're interested in adding a second first-round pick to go along with the No. 11 pick.
Most of the players in this year's class appear to be capable of making an impact immediately, with some even looking like potential stars, so it's likely going to be difficult for any team to move up unless they come with a significant offer.
