Top NHL Trade Rumors Following 2026 Stanley Cup Bracket Final, Brady Tkachuk Deal

Erik BeastonJun 22, 2026

The hockey world shook Sunday afternoon with the news that the Ottawa Senators had traded Brady Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers for both of the team's first-round picks in 2026, a 2029 first-rounder, and a 2027 second-rounder.

It was a massive deal that set the stage for other trades, several of which have the attention of the game's most trusted insiders.

Dive deeper into them with this collection, including the latest on the Senators' preferred replacement for Tkachuk.

Ottawa Making Push for Jason Robertson

Dallas Stars v Minnesota Wild - Game Six

Dallas Stars left wing Jason Robertson had one of his finest seasons in 2025-26, scoring 96 points on 45 goals and 51 assists, with a 15.3 shooting percentage, in 20:15 minutes per game.

Yet, amid a huge contract dilemma and impending restricted free agency approaches, the Western Conference team finds itself fielding trade offers for the 26-year-old.

The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta reported on X:

"Things are very fluid, and there's plenty of time for Dallas to explore its options, but sources say Ottawa is making a big push for Jason Robertson. If a trade cannot be ironed out and he hits July 1 as an RFA, the Senators could present him with a significant offer sheet."

In the wake of the Senators trading Brady Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers, the team needs an elite goal scorer. Robertson is just that. He could step in from day one, pick up where the second-generation player left off, and ensure the team's offense does not miss a beat.

He is dependable, does not miss games (something that cannot be said for Tkachuk), and the Senators have the draft assets necessary to complete the deal.

It is a trade that would make sense for both teams, so it is not particularly surprising that Ottawa would be aggressively pursuing Robertson.

Flyers Interested in Ottawa Centers

Anthony Di Marco of The Daily Faceoff reported:

"According to team sources, the Flyers have interest in Senators centers Shane Pinto, Dylan Cozens and Ridly Greig – in that order. DFO was told that the Flyers and Senators have had on and off trade talks going back to the 2024-25 season; per sources, the Senators were unwilling to move any of their pivots other than Josh Norris."

The Flyers have a glaring hole at center and, specifically, right-side shooters. Pinto and Cozens would resolve that particular option for the team, and, as Di Marco noted, neither has trade protection next season.

Pinto scored 23 goals and added 23 assists this past season. The 25-year-old plays elite two-way hockey, shutting down opposing offenses and generating scoring. He is a smart, instinctual defender and a quick-release shooter. He would be the best fit for a Flyers team that needs that commanding presence on the ice.

Cozens tallied 59 points on 28 goals and 31 assists last season. He has the physical tools, including a big frame and elite speed, but he is not the defensive presence that Pinto is.

Greig is not the offensive threat that either of his teammates is, and he shoots left, but he is a quality defensive presence.

Any of the three would realistically benefit the Flyers, but Pinto is such a strong fit that it would make sense for the front office to do what it can to pull off a deal for him.

Leafs Willing to Trade Matthew Knies

Dallas Stars v Toronto Maple Leafs

As new general manager John Chaykin continues to make over the Toronto Maple Leafs roster, Darren Dreger of TSN reported, "there's a belief that the Leafs are at least willing to trade Matthew Knies. The conversations are ongoing with multiple teams with considerable interest in Knies. So we'll have to see how that develops."

He added, "But John Chayka is definitely doing his due diligence, as are other clubs, finding out why Matthew Knies would be available for trade.

Knies scored 23 times in 2025-26, added 43 assists, but finished the season with a +/- of -30.

A big power forward, his size allows him to create scoring opportunities in the tightest of spaces. Still, his inconsistent defense and occasional puck-handling sloppiness undermine the overall quality of his play.

While Dreger's report suggests teams are fishing for why Knies may be available, it very well could be as simple as a change of scenery, with Chaykin preferring to remake the team in his vision.

Knies is a valuable trade chip that the organization can get plenty in return for.
