Simmons expressed his appreciation for Tennessee following the contract agreement.
"Tennessee has become a second home for me," Simmons said, per Jim Wyatt of the team's official website. "From day one, this organization believed in me, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue to pour into this franchise and community. I want to thank God, my family, my teammates, Ms. Amy and the entire Titans organization for believing in me. My job isn't finished. I believe in this locker room and this staff, and I'm focused on helping this team get back to competing for championships."
Rapoport noted that extending Simmons has "always been a priority" for the Titans, but contract negotiations "picked up steam the last few days."
The 28-year-old has spent his entire career with Tennessee after he was selected with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft.
Simmons steadily developed into one of the league's top interior defensive lineman on the Titans, earning his first of four Pro Bowl nods in 2021.
He recently wrapped up a dominant 2025 campaign, receiving First Team All-Pro recognition. In 15 games, Simmons set career-high marks with 21 quarterback hits and 17 tackles for loss to go along with 11 sacks.
He also ranked No. 1 among all defensive tackles with 60 pressures as well as 18 pressures after a double team, per NFL researcher Tony Holzman-Escareno.
As Simmons prepares to play his first season under new head coach Robert Saleh in 2026, his long-term future with the Titans was secured on Friday.
