Cam Boozer Being Looked at 'Hard' by Jazz amid Darryn Peterson Draft Rumors, NBA Insider Says
Don't be shocked if the Utah Jazz select Duke star Cam Boozer with the No. 2 overall pick at this year's NBA draft.
"I do think they're looking at Boozer hard, and part of that evaluation is that Jaren Jackson Jr.'s flaw playing the 5—and I'm not saying start there, but playing there—is he's a poor rebounder for a 5. Well Boozer would really mitigate that concern because he's a really strong rebounder for a 4," ESPN's Tim MacMahon said on The Hoop Collective podcast. "Boozer as a 4, one of the concerns is that you really need a rim-protector alongside him. Well, Jackson's an elite rim-protector. So those guys, you could see them as a great complementary duo. And again, I'm not saying that's how they'd start, but just playing significant minutes together."

Tony Jones of The Athletic also reported that the Jazz are very much considering Boozer with the No. 2 pick, writing they were "'genuinely torn' between selecting AJ Dybantsa, Boozer or Darryn Peterson one week away from the NBA Draft, league sources told The Athletic."
One downside to selecting Boozer is that it would create quite the logjam amongst the team's bigs, with Jackson, Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler also on the roster (assuming he returns in restricted free agency). Dybantsa or Peterson would more naturally slide into a regular role given the team's current roster construction.
But if the Jazz believe Boozer is the best prospect available, they'll make it work.
