Knicks' Jalen Brunson Responds to Stephen A. Smith's Apology for Doubting PG in First Take Video
ESPN megaphone Stephen A. Smith apologized to Jalen Brunson for doubting him in the past—and said he wouldn't doubt him in the future—after the star point guard led the New York Knicks to an NBA championship on Saturday.
"We'll see about that," a smirking Brunson responded during First Take after Smith said he wouldn't doubt him any longer, though he did thank him for the apology.
Brunson siphoned away any fuel his haters might still have left in the tank during a legendary Game 5 performance, putting up 45 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals during the 94-90 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
The common knock on Brunson during his Knicks tenure was that he—and smaller guards in general—couldn't be the No. 1 option on a championship team in the modern NBA. Nobody is saying that any longer, including Smith, the loudest voice of them all.
