Yankees' Cam Schlittler Says Blue Jays Fans Are 'Easy to Rage-Bait,' Talks 2025 MLB Playoff Loss
New York Yankees pitcher Cam Schlittler said there is mutual dislike between himself and Toronto Blue Jays fans after last year's division series ahead of a Saturday afternoon AL East matchup in Toronto.
Schlittler started Game 4 of the 2025 ALDS, in which the Blue Jays eliminated the Yankees before making it as far as Game 7 of the 2025 World Series.
"The fans don't like us," Schlittler said before his Saturday start (h/t MLB.com's Bryan Hoch). "The fans don't like me. So it'll be good to go out there and try to be locked in, try to give us a quality start and put us in a position to win games."

When asked why he felt Blue Jays fans didn't like him, Schlittler told Hoch: "They're easy to rage-bait, I think. All the stuff last year in the playoffs or whatever it is — they've got a whole country behind them, so there's a lot.
"They're passionate about it. You respect them for that, but I don't really like them. They ended our season last year. I hope everyone's got that chip on their shoulder."
Schlittler opened his start with consecutive swinging strikeouts of Kazuma Okamoto and Nathan Lukes, but loaded the bases in the second before getting out of the frame on a groundout.
The Blue Jays finally broke through in the third when Okamoto hit a 352-foot home run off his third pitch of the inning from Schlittler.
Schlittler, who is in his second MLB season, surpassed his rookie total with his 15th start of the season Saturday in Toronto.
He went into the weekend matchup with a 1.87 ERA with 89 strikeouts and just 14 walks allowed across 82 innings pitched.
The Yankees went into the weekend with a 41-27 record, tied with the Tampa Bay Rays and eight games ahead of the Blue Jays for the top of the AL East.
