Draymond Green Suggests Wemby's Tactics Are 'A Bit Dirty' After Controversial Spurs-Knicks Moments
There has been plenty of discourse about the physical tactics of San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama during the 2026 NBA Finals, especially after he set a controversial screen on OG Anunoby in Game 4.
Draymond Green was the latest to weigh in on the topic on Saturday.

Celebs in the House for Game 4

Who's really to blame for Spurs' collapse?
"Victor Wembanyama is a great player," the Golden State Warriors forward said on The Draymond Green Show (3:50 mark). "Victor Wembanyama is a European player. And I've been on record saying European players are dirty. And everybody is like, 'Draymond shouldn't say that.'
"And I've told you all, no, Draymond will f--k you up. I'm not dirty. It's a completely different thing. And I don't think anyone I play against will tell you, 'man, he's dirty.' No, I ain't dirty. That's a different thing. I will mess you up.
"Victor Wembanyama is a European player, they are a bit dirty. It's why beating France in France was such a big deal. Europeans want to own our game, and they are dirty."
Green discussing the topic is all the more notable. He now infamously accumulated enough flagrant foul points during the 2016 NBA Finals to be suspended for Game 5. Golden State lost that game and ended up blowing a 3-1 lead to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Wembanyama is just one flagrant foul away from his own suspension because of the flagrant points he has accumulated during the playoffs. His latest flagrant foul came during San Antonio's Game 4 collapse when he elbowed New York Knicks big man Karl-Anthony Towns.
He was also ejected from a second-round game against the Minnesota Timberwolves for elbowing Naz Reid.
As for the screen on Anunoby, different camera angles appear to show he was pushed before setting the screen and did not intentionally jump into the Knicks forward.
Anunoby also got the last laugh, as he scored the game-winning tip-in during the final seconds of Game 4 to give New York a commanding 3-1 advantage in the series. The Spurs blew a 29-point lead in the process, which marked the largest collapse in NBA Finals history.
Now the Knicks have the chance to close the series out on the road Saturday, while San Antonio hopes to become the second team in history to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the Finals.
