What OG, Knicks Said in Locker Room at Halftime Before Historic Comeback vs. Spurs Revealed
Trailing by 27 points going into halftime of Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals, the New York Knicks opted to keep the noise quiet in the locker room as they thought about how to claw their way back against the San Antonio Spurs.
OG Anunoby, who played the role of hero down the stretch with a block of De'Aaron Fox's layup and putback layup with 1.2 seconds remaining to put the Knicks ahead, said they felt "fine" at halftime because they've been down before.

Per Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix, the Knicks chose to keep the televisions in the locker room off rather than do the traditional film review.
"We let them sit for a bit," head coach Mike Brown said (h/t Mannix), "talk amongst themselves."
Mikal Bridges echoed Anunoby's sentiment, explaining the Knicks' message was to "take it one possession at a time" because you can't erase the deficit that large in one shot.
Karl-Anthony Towns' message was to directly reference some of the Knicks' past playoff comebacks, particularly last year in their series against the Boston Celtics, to remind them they are capable of anything.
Mannix noted Brown's final message before taking his team back out to start the third quarter was: "Cut it to around 15, 17 going into the fourth. If we do, we'll give ourselves a chance."
Sure enough, the Knicks got the deficit to 15 at 90-75 to start the fourth quarter. They did did allow the Spurs to score the first five points in the period to go back up by 20 with 9:33 remaining.
From that point on, though, the Knicks outscored the Spurs 32-11 to pull off the stunning comeback win. Teams trailing by at least 20 points in the fourth quarter of a playoff game were 3-747 over the past 30 seasons entering Wednesday night.
The Knicks now have two of those four wins in this postseason alone. They came back from 22 down with less than eight minutes to go in the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
New York trailed by as many as 29 points against the Spurs, making it the biggest comeback win in NBA Finals history.
The historic win by the Knicks has given them a 3-1 lead over San Antonio with a chance to close out the series in Game 5 at Frost Bank Center on Saturday night.
