Davion Thompson Commits to John Calipari, Arkansas, Full Scouting Report on 5-Star PG
Point guard prospect Davion Thompson told 247Sports' Dushawn London that he committed to Arkansas on Wednesday.
Thompson is a 5-star prospect who is listed as the No. 5 point guard and No. 22 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class, per 247Sports' composite rankings.
He received offers from several schools including Baylor, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon and Tennessee before committing to head coach John Calipari's program.
Thompson previously revealed that he was impressed with the culture Calipari has instilled during his time with the Razorbacks.
"Just the culture they have and the reputation that coach Cal has," Thompson told Rivals' Joe Tipton. "He has a lot of guards that come through, and he puts them in the NBA and in the best position to chase their dreams.
"It's pretty much the coaching staff, too. They've been on me since I was a sophomore or junior, so I have a good relationship with them. I like the visit when I went up there. Everything was good."
Thompson, an Illinois native, is listed at 6'2" and 170 pounds.
He recently excelled while playing for Meanstreets on the Nike EYBL Circuit, averaging 21.7 points and 4.4 rebounds to go along with 3.9 assists per game (h/t Tipton). He also shot nearly 52 percent from three-point territory.
Thompson suited up for Team USA in the 2026 FIBA Men's U18 AmeriCup as well, recording 9.8 points and 3.2 assists in 18.7 minutes per game while shooting 56.7 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from behind the arc.
The Razorbacks are currently coming off a 2025-26 campaign in which they finished with a 28-9 record, advancing to the Sweet 16 of the 2026 NCAA tournament before falling to Arizona.
