New NFL Rumors on Chiefs Exploring Trade of Veteran Offensive Lineman Before 2026 Season
The Kansas City Chiefs reportedly may trade some of their offensive linemen depth ahead of the 2026 campaign.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported Tuesday the Chiefs and offensive tackle Wanya Morris "agreed to explore trade options" since he "would like the chance to play more and Kansas City has tackle depth."
With offensive tackles such as Josh Simmons, Jaylon Moore and Esa Pole on the roster, the AFC West team could afford to lose Morris via trade. That is especially the case if it gets something of value back in return.

Morris is also entering the final year of his deal, which means Kansas City could have been in position to lose him to free agency next season anyway. Trading him now will allow it to potentially acquire some draft capital before that possible departure.
The Chiefs selected the offensive tackle with a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft, and he appeared in 14 regular-season games and two playoff games during his rookie campaign. Kansas City won the Lombardi Trophy that season and then reached the Super Bowl again during Morris' second year in the league.
He started a career-high 11 games during that second year and even caught a touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes during a trick play against the Cincinnati Bengals:
However, he made just one start in 2025 and played a total of 66 offensive snaps, per Pro Football Focus.
Morris doesn't seem to be a part of the Chiefs' long-term plans, but another team could see the 25-year-old as a potential reclamation project who may thrive with a change of scenery now that Kansas City is looking to trade him.
