Former NYC Mayor Bloomberg Reacts to Trending Jose Alvarado Video from Knicks' NBA Finals Game 3
Former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg told New York Knicks guard Jose Alvarado it was "great to meet" him after the two collided on the sideline during Monday night's Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden.
Alvarado landed on Bloomberg when he dove for a loose ball in the fourth quarter of Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs. He appeared to check on Bloomberg, 84, before returning to the court.

Alvarado, a Queens native, was acquired by the Knicks through a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans in February.
Bloomberg, who is ranked by Forbes as the 18th-richest man in the world, was one of multiple high-profile attendees including U.S. President Donald Trump present to watch Alvarado and the Knicks play Game 3.
The Knicks were trailing by eight points with just under 11 minutes left when Alvarado leapt for the ball.
The Spurs went on to cut the Knicks' series lead to 2-1 with a 115-111 Game 3 win.
The Knicks, which had won 13 straight playoff games heading into Monday's loss, will look to put the Spurs on the brink of elimination by getting back in the win column when Game 4 tips off Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.
