AJ Dybantsa Works NBA Finals, Asks Victor Wembanyama Question in Video After Spurs' G3 Win
Prospective top 2026 draft pick AJ Dybantsa got a chance to interview a former No. 1 pick ahead of Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs.
Dybantsa asked Spurs star Victor Wembanyama about changing up his strategy to attack the interior more against the New York Knicks in his team's Game 3 win Monday night at Madison Square Garden.
"The goal is always to go inside. The best shot in the game is an alley-oop, is the most efficient shot, but teams don't just let you do that," Wembanyama told Dybantsa on Tuesday.
"I think what we've built with this team is that we've got an identity that makes everybody dangerous, and sometimes it'll pay off. Over a season, over a playoff series, we're going to get easy buckets, inside buckets like I did last night."
Wembanyama led his team with 16 points in the paint in Monday's Game 3 win, compared to eight in Game 1 and 14 in Game 2.
He also scored 10 points off turnovers, compared to nine combined through the two previous games.
Dybantsa is one of five players interviewing Spurs and Knicks players as part of the NBA Player Correspondents program during the 2026 Finals.
UNC's Caleb Wilson served in the role for Game 1, while the New Orleans Pelicans' Derik Queen and Jeremiah Fears covered Games 2 and 3, respectively.
Dybantsa is covering Game 4 before the Charlotte Hornets' Kon Knueppel takes over for Game 5.
The NBA Finals continues Wednesday with Game 4 at 8:30 p.m ET in New York before the series swings back to San Antonio for Game 5 this Saturday.
