Jalen Brunson Admits He's Played 'Subpar' for Knicks in NBA Finals vs. Spurs in New Video
Jalen Brunson hasn't been thrilled with his personal performance during the NBA Finals thus far.
"Subpar," the New York Knicks star told ABC News' Will Reeve on Good Morning America when asked to rate himself during the NBA Finals thus far. "When I say subpar, just from my standards. I still feel like I'm trying to impact the game as much as I can, but I also feel I can be much better. But most importantly just find ways to impact, help us win."
Brunson, 29, put up 30 points in Game 1 and hit some crucial shots down the stretch, though he shot just 12-of-31 from the field. He shot even worse in Game 2 (7-of-25) but finished with 20 points, six assists, five steals and five rebounds while scoring the last five points of the game for the Knicks.
He perhaps hasn't been at his best, but the Knicks still hold a 2-0 lead in the series and are back at Madison Square Garden for Games 3-4. The organization's 53-year title drought may finally be coming to an end.
