Abner Uribe Suspended By MLB for DX Chop Celebration on Video During Brewers' Win vs. Cardinals
Milwaukee Brewers reliever Abner Uribe was suspended by MLB for one game for the DX chop celebration he directed toward the St. Louis Cardinals dugout after a strikeout in his club's Tuesday shutout win, per MLB.com's Adam McCalvy.
Uribe also received a fine for what MLB described as "inappropriate actions," per McCalvy. He is appealing MLB's decision, per ESPN's Jeff Passan.
The incident took place after Uribe struck out the Cardinals' Alec Burleson in Tuesday's eighth inning.

Uribe allowed one hit, one walk and struck out two batters while pitching one inning in the Brewers' 6-0 win.
He was originally scheduled to serve out his suspension during the Brewers' Friday night game at the Houston Astros, according to MLB.com.
That will now be delayed until MLB makes a decision regarding Uribe's appeal, per MLB.com.
Uribe's celebration did not receive support following the incident from Brewers manager Pat Murphy, who spoke out against the pitcher's decision after the win.
"That's just unacceptable. I don't know what got over him. I mean, he's been an emotional guy, but that kind of thing, that's just not how we do things," Murphy said Tuesday. "I was embarrassed by it."
Uribe said through a translator after the game he felt he owed an apology to the Brewers.
"I understand that's unacceptable to go out there and react in a way like that," Uribe said.
Uribe also accused Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol of "making signs toward our dugout saying that he's going to be hitting guys" during Monday's series opener.
This marks the second career suspension for Uribe, who sat out six games for his role in a brawl against the Tampa Bay Rays on May 1, 2024. Uribe was also fined $24,108 for that previous suspension.
Uribe is playing in his fourth season with the Brewers. He has appeared in 21 games during Milwaukee's 33-20 start to the season, pitching 19.1 innings while allowing 15 hits and eight walks while striking out 21 batters for a 4.19 ERA.
He joins Trevor Megill, Aaron Ashby, DL Hall and Grant Anderson as one of five Brewers relievers to have appeared in at least 20 games this season.
The Brewers are set to begin their weekend road series against the Houston Astros Friday night at 8:10 p.m. ET. After sweeping the Cardinals, the NL Central leaders are riding a three-game win streak into the series.
