Watch MAAC Rebrand as The Metro Conference in New Hype Video

College sports fans will no longer have to differentiate between the MAC and the MAAC.

The Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference, which has been abbreviated as the MAAC, announced Thursday it is rebranding to The Metro with a message that said, "No more acronyms. No more confusion. This is who we are."

The video that accompanied the announcement said, "for too long, too much time has been spent explaining who this conference isn't … and not enough time telling the story of who it is."

Rebranding to The Metro figures to eliminate the confusion with the Mid-American Conference and allow the focus to be on the accomplishments of the various schools and programs. 

The new brand will fully launch on July 1.
