Shedeur Sanders Praised by Jerry Jeudy, Browns QB 'More Comfortable, Confident' in 2nd NFL Season
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was impressed with teammate Shedeur Sanders' progress throughout the 2026 offseason as the quarterback prepares for his second year in the NFL.
"Just being more comfortable, being more confident and that comes with repetition," Jeudy told reporters regarding Sanders on Wednesday. "Having that first year to that second year jump, you can see him out here on the field just being a lot more comfortable, confident and in command."
Sanders appeared in eight games as a rookie after the Browns selected him in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft, completing 56.6 percent of his throws for 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns to go along with 10 interceptions.
The 24-year-old is competing with Deshaun Watson for Cleveland's starting quarterback role in 2026, while fellow second-year passer Dillon Gabriel is also in the mix.
Watson seems to be winning the position battle, as Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reported Tuesday that "Watson appeared to have the edge over Sanders in the open practice last week."
Still, Sanders will have plenty of time to win the starting job with one more session of OTAs and mandatory minicamp on the horizon.
As for Jeudy, he reeled in 50 catches for 602 yards and two scores during his 2025 campaign.
