New 2027 NFL Draft Big Board Rankings Revealed by NFL Insider After Talking to Scouts
NFL insider Jordan Schultz released an early 2027 NFL draft board based on conversations with college scouts, he reported Wednesday.
Schultz's board features Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith as the top overall prospect, followed by two quarterbacks in Texas' Arch Manning and Oregon's Dante Moore.
Two offensive tackles in Texas' Trevor Goosby and LSU's Jordan Seaton round out Schultz's top five.
Schultz also ranked Texas defensive end Colin Simmons, Ole Miss defensive tackle Will Echoles, South Carolina defensive end Dylan Stewart, Texas wide receiver Cam Coleman and Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore among his top 10.
An early 2027 NFL mock draft from Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski features Manning and Moore as the No. 2 and No. 3 picks, respectively.
Goosby is predicted to come off the board at No. 5, while Sobleski projected Smith at No. 6 and Seaton at No. 15.
The top pick in Sobleski's early mock, Miami quarterback Darian Mensah, did not make Schultz's top-20 list.
Neither did Sobleski's projected No. 4 pick of South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers.
The Ringer's Todd McShay projected a top four of Manning, Smith, Dante Moore and Sellers on his own early mock in April.
The Athletic's Dane Brugler also went with Manning, Smith and Dante Moore at the top, although he projected Leonard Moore would come off the board at No. 4.
Early discussions as to what the final 2027 NFL draft order will look like come ahead of what is expected to be a particularly strong incoming group of prospects. ESPN's Field Yates said earlier this month that "NFL teams are operating under the same presumption" that this "could be a special class."
With multiple NFL teams likely in need of quarterbacks for 2027, how Manning and Dante Moore play during what is expected to be their final college seasons could impact what the top of the draft board looks like next spring.
