New Todd McShay 2027 NFL Mock Draft Drops, Arch Manning, Dante Moore Landing Spots Revealed

Julia StumbaughApr 29, 2026

The end of the 2026 NFL draft last weekend in Pittsburgh means it's officially time to project what the 2027 draft will look like.

Todd McShay provided a rundown of the top of his early 2027 mock draft around the 13:30 mark of Wednesday's episode of The Ringer's The McShay Show.

McShay is predicting that three quarterbacks will come off the board in the top four picks of the draft, according to the top four picks on the mock published Tuesday to his website:

  1. New York Jets: Arch Manning, QB, Texas
  2. Miami Dolphins: Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State
  3. Arizona Cardinals: Dante Moore, QB, Oregon
  4. Cleveland Browns: LaNorris Sellers, QB, South Carolina

McShay said on his podcast the biggest conversation surrounding the 2027 draft might come down to whether Manning or Moore will be the first quarterback off the board.

"I think Dante is closer right now. Dante is the better pure passer," McShay said. "Arch is bigger. Arch is more mobile. Arch kind of likes to run."

He continued, "I think it's important to note the gap between those top two and Sellers."

McShay projected three more quarterbacks as first-round picks in Ohio State's Julian Sayin, Notre Dame's CJ Carr and LSU's Sam Leavitt.

That would mark a significant increase from the 2026 draft, when Indiana's Fernando Mendoza and Alabama's Ty Simpson were the only signal callers to come off the board on Day 1. The third quarterback drafted, Miami's Carson Beck, didn't hear his name called until the third round.

Several teams projected to land at the top of the next draft, including the Jets, Cardinals and Browns, are heading into the 2026 season with veteran quarterbacks on expiring deals.

These teams could be hoping the increased quarterback depth in the 2027 draft class will help them take the next step in their respective rebuilds by allowing them to target highly-ranked signal callers next spring.
