Speights spent two seasons with the Gators, winning a national championship in 2007.
During the 2025-26 season, a handful of players who had been drafted to the NBA returned to college basketball, despite some having professional experience either overseas or in the G League.
The latest is RJ Luis, who reportedly signed with LSU on Tuesday. Luis, who spent one year at UMass and two years at St. John's, went undrafted in June before signing a two-way contract with the Utah Jazz. He later joined the Boston Celtics' G League team.
Luis is currently ineligible to play college basketball but will "likely file a lawsuit" to gain eligibility, according to On3's Pete Nakos.
