6 Most Likely Heel and Face Turns at WWE SNME, AEW Double or Nothing 2026
WWE and All Elite Wrestling are set to deliver a blockbuster Memorial Day weekend, as Saturday Night's Main Event and Double or Nothing take place on consecutive nights.
SNME was set up to focus on WWE's midcard talent and has a chance to deliver some shockers to get fans talking.
Double or Nothing stands as one of AEW's biggest shows and promises game-changing action to set the stage for an eventful summer.
In order to deliver talking points and hype, these shows would need memorable moments. The following are the most likely heel and face turns to come out of this weekend.
Heel: Brie Bella (and Nikki Bella)
1 of 6
Brie Bella and Paige as a team is not working. The biggest reason is Brie's struggles in the ring, but the other issue is that fans are waiting for Nikki Bella's return.
The team that was supposed to win the Women's Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 42 was likely The Bella Twins, one of the earliest true women's tag teams.
Once Nikki is healthy, the goal remains to give The Bellas one run with the titles that did not exist during their prime.
For this reason, signs point to a Bella betrayal. Brie and Nikki will no longer need Paige when Nikki is healthy, so they will likely betray her.
If Nikki is ready, that could come after Paige and Brie drop the tag titles back to Lash Legend and Nia Jax, setting up the Bellas to pursue The Irresistible Forces to get the gold back.
Heel: Montez Ford
2 of 6
The Street Profits spent too much time on the shelf before finally returning after WrestleMania 42 with the goal of winning back the World Tag Team Championships.
Montez Ford is clearly hyper-focused on winning that gold, and that focus could lead to a dramatic turn for one of WWE's best underused stars.
Ford has stated multiple times that he is not happy with how Angelo Dawkins is working with Seth Rollins, and it got Ford laid out on Raw by Bron Breakker.
If Rollins costs The Street Profits gold, Ford could blame The Visionary more than The Vision for the loss.
While it is harder to see The Street Profits turning on one another, it would be believable for Ford to attack Rollins and leave Dawkins struggling to choose a side before eventually turning to help Ford.
Face: Konosuke Takeshita
3 of 6Is Konosuke Takeshita already a babyface? The argument could be made, but he still runs with Don Callis for now.
That is likely to change at Double or Nothing when The Alpha faces Kazuchika Okada for the International Championship.
Takeshita and Okada have struggled to work together for over half-a-year, setting the stage for Callis to choose a side.
While The Alpha is an original to The Don Callis Family, Callis will choose The Rainmaker due to the talent and legacy of Okada.
It would not be surprising to see Callis cost Takeshita this match, kicking The Alpha out of The Family.
Face: Andrade El Ídolo
4 of 6Since Andrade El Ídolo joined The Don Callis Family, something has felt off. He does not look comfortable dealing with Callis' mess.
El Ídolo just wants someone to push him to the top and does not appreciate Callis' unfocused heel antics, including choosing other Family members over him.
Much like Konosuke Takeshita, Andrade will eventually choose himself over Callis, and Stadium Stampede could be the moment.
There is no reason in El Ídolo's mind that he should be in this stable warfare match when he wants the next title shot against Darby Allin.
If MJF dethrones The Daredevil at Double or Nothing, Andrade would make perfect sense to turn face and go after The Salt of the Earth.
To get there, though, especially while Callis works with MJF, El Ídolo will need to break away from the Family.
Heel: Hikaru Shida (and Kris Statlander)
5 of 6
Arguably, Hikaru Shida is already a heel based on her treatment of Harley Cameron and Mina Shirakawa.
However, she continues to work with Kris Statlander and pick fights with heels like The Divine Dominion.
Shida is feigning good faith actions, and she will not be a full heel until she shows her worst attitude in English in the same way she speaks in Japanese.
If Shida turns on Statlander at Double or Nothing during or after the AEW Women's World Championship match, it would truly solidify her as one of the company's top villains.
The spotlight at Double or Nothing could also set up a pair of heel turns, though, as Stat has shown heavy trust in Shida despite knowing she is acting selfishly.
If Stat helps Shida steal the title and commits to her over Harley and Mina, it could set up a dominant alliance that AEW will struggle to contend with.
Heel: Persephone
6 of 6Fans have not seen Persephone since The Triangle of Madness blinded her with black mist.
She will compete in the Women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament this year though, setting the stage for a change in behavior after her misting.
While fans have only seen Persephone as a face so far, she has history as a heel in Mexico that could help her take the next big step up.
Much like Julia Hart's evolution after the mist, Persephone could embrace a darker persona, perhaps returning to the masked persona of Black Widow.
Even though Persephone is not booked directly for Double or Nothing, she could solidify her evolution by getting involved in either the AEW Women's World Championship match or the first women's Owen Hart Cup contest.
Either way, it would be a massive spotlight for a star that looks ready to massively rise up the AEW women's roster.
